Core Practices for Advanced Work: Tuning the Instrument of Self

  Core Practices for Advanced Work

You are your instrument, in the practice of mediating. Heres your chance to learn specific techniques to bring to that more of the creative, resourceful and whole person you really are. You'll see how easily you can listen better, speak more effectively and be more comprehensively observing. By learning to step back from your accustomed way of thinking about yourself and your relationships with others, you will gain a wider and deeper perspective that will allow those with whom you work to accomplish much more of what they came together to do.

Phillips, author of The Mediation Field Guide, has been a pioneer in the effort to develop the inner capacity for advanced work in mediating. In this program, she demonstrates how body and heart awareness can affect the reality of workplace difficulties, such as performance issues, group dynamics and difficult managers and employees.
