THE HEART/ WORK

The biggest factor in the quality of your life is the quality of your relationships, whether as employee, coach, mediator, family member, partner/co-worker, manager, professional. Relationships are the province of the heart.

NAICR has been providing Heart/Work training and teleclasses for the past year, integrating what all of us have been learning about the mind, the heart, and the work. Students of this work who have put it into practice are beginning to experience changes in their lives and in their work.
Specifically, they notice being
• More real in all kinds of relationships
• Calmer and more centered, even when all hell is breaking loose around them
• A more intelligent listener
• More observant of the state of their mind and their heart
• More observant of others
• Better able to read situations and people
• More comfortable with silence – actually able to use silence intelligently
• Less judgmental and critical while at the same time being more discerning
• More appreciative of their surroundings and of others
• More in touch with their own wisdom and
• More likely to find that others around them move from destructive behaviors and very narrow contextual thinking to constructive behaviors and wider contextual thinking.
The list goes on and on. What is it that flips the switch from how we are accustomed to being, a way of being that is more coherent, more effective, more enjoyable? There is a specific learning path that NAICR has been developing, that is now taught in many of the classes and TeleClasses, called Heart/Work.

Assess the quality of your relationships with these questions:

When you speak, do your words have weight?
Do people take what you say seriously? Do you?

Do you find yourself caught up in needing to be right when difficulties surface, when you really had not intended it?

Do you find that your attention is often fragmented: you don't notice things you later realize you should have noticed?

You are able to do better, using nothing more than the capacities and abilities you were born with. It only takes training and practice to bring these out.

When you explore the Heart/Work, you can learn more about seeing things as they are, rather than as you would have them be. And you can learn to be more real with others.

The Heart/Work is Practical and Down-to-Earth
