Barbara Ashley Phillips

has 20 years experience in mediation and training. She is known as an inspired teacher and writer in the field and for her knack of bringing a measure of harmony to individuals involved in high conflict situations. A graduate of Yale Law School, Barbara Phillips served as an Assistant United States Attorney and practiced primarilyfederal civil trial law in Oregon and California, prior to becoming a mediator.

Barbara Ashley Phillips is Director of North American Institute for Conflict Resolution.

PROFESSIONAL MEDIATOR

Over 20 years experience in civil mediation with emphasis on highly sensitive and also complex, technical matters. Subject areas include workplace conflicts, medical and legal malpractice, all aspects of construction conflicts, environmental issues, partnerships and joint ventures, a wide variety of contractual issues, personal injury, product liability, aviation, and many others.

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT RESOURCES

Conflict Assessments provide feedback on conflict situations, identifying essential players and resources and developing time-lines and essential steps for accomplishment of client objectives.

Strategic Conflict Management includes developing and designing processes and approaches to conflict situations, as well as training and coaching negotiation teams, counsel, facilitators

Dialogue and Consensus Facilitation can be incorporated into any other process and also used separately.

TRAINING

Training that builds inner, personal tools and resources for conflict management. Everyone has substantial unused capacity for excellence in conflict management. Phillips' training opens up and makes available to participants, some of that capacity, so that there is greater ease, more resourcefulness and creativity and smoother interface in handling difficult situations.
